As of last week Olympus Press has completed the installation of a new prepress portal software system that will allow clients and project managers to communicate with more efficiency. The new system, called Kodak InSite, provides secure 24/7 Web access to the Kodak Prinergy workflow. This new system will give customers, prepress staff, project managers and account representatives the ability to submit jobs, track progress, collaborate on changes, and review and approve work—anywhere, anytime.
Over the next few months Olympus Press will be integrating their existing clients to this much improved workflow. Clients will be able to view, approve or comment on online proofs through a very slick digital interface. “Kodak has obviously paid a great deal of attention to the development of this interface” says Jeremiah Easter, Olympus’ web applications director, “I half expected the interface to be as clunky as some other systems we had passed up on, but I was immediately impressed with the front end of the InSite portal and especially with its PDF proofing capabilities.”
Improved tools for the client are not the only positives of this new upgrade says Glenn Blue, co-owner of Olympus Press. “The install of Kodak’s InSite completes the integration of all processes in our manufacturing facility. Essentially this means less hands on a project and increased savings to our clients without sacrificing the quality and value that has become synonymous with the name Olympus Press.”
